Round 12 at Happy's
Sunday, September 21, 2008
Round 12 was definitely a “Happy” weekend. With the return to Happy Rambler for the final race of the season, the WMXtreme team came ready for action. Friday, set up turned out to be quite wet and muddy, but that weather helped to keep the track in excellent condition with very little dust throughout the whole weekend. Saturday practice day went off without a hitch. We enjoyed fantastic crabs and corn. We would like to thank the Bolen’s for the crabs and everyone else who contributed to the weekend dinner. We would also like to thank the staff at Happy Ramblers for providing a great spot for our team and providing the entertainment for Saturday evening under the full moon. Sunday was all business with all the riders trying either to retain or gain another position in their overall finishes for the year. We would like to acknowledge our great finishes for the day; Chris Heinlein had 9 – 9 for an 8th overall in 250B , Zach Stoner going 8 – 8 for 8th overall in Juniormini, Mike Lupey finishing 6th overall in both Plus 30C and Senior B and Daryn Thompson finishing 8th overall in 85B and 3rd overall in Supermini for the day. Unfortunately not all our team riders faired so well, with Stan Bolen suffering head injury and multiple bruising from a nasty get off in his first moto of the day and Jonathan Braun sustained a broken elbow in practice. We would like to wish both of them a fast recovery. Our team would also like to extend a get well to all the riders who had injuries on Sunday and may their recovery be fast. Looking forward to the Maryland State Championships in October, hope to see you all there.
