Round 6

Round 6 – Mountaineer

Everyone seemed geared up and ready to ride after the MDRA series took a 5 week break. It was great to be back at the track and we had a great turn out with most of our team members arriving in full force on Friday evening. The rest of the crew pulled in on Saturday morning. Everyone was anxious for practice despite the hot weather, 93 degrees to be exact. However as the day wore on some riders were showing the effects with dehydration and heat exhaustion. Practice was called at 3:00 and everyone was ready for a cold shower and some AC. Our Saturday night dinner of barbequed ribs, corn, salads, deviled eggs and many wonderful desserts was enjoyed by all. We even managed to get the whole dinner done before severe weather set in and put a damper on our festivities. We all survived the wicked winds and downpours, except for one Suzuki EZUP canopy which was swept away and damaged beyond use. Race day however started off rainy and wet, but turned around quickly. The track turned out great with many memorable finishes for our team members. Congrats to all our riders and all their efforts on a hot summer day. For those team members on the injured list or could not make the race – we missed you. Hope to see you at Sleepy Hollow where we will be having our annual Crab Feast on Saturday night!
